THREE STEP REWIND

The Three Step Rewind Technique is a gentle, non-intrusive course of three sessions designed to help you move on from trauma, phobias, and distressing memories. It provides a safe space to find peace, restore calm, and feel more in control of your emotional wellbeing.

HOW IT WORKS

Used since the early 1990s, the Rewind Technique helps manage and overcome trauma and phobias of many kinds, including:

  • PTSD 
  • Birth trauma and postnatal challenges
  • Fertility-related stress
  • Childhood trauma
  • Medical or workplace stress
  • Environmental or other distressing experiences
     

The technique works by reprogramming neural pathways that connect memories to strong emotional responses. While it doesn’t erase memories, it helps reduce the intensity of feelings associated with past events. This makes it easier to reflect on these experiences with a calmer, more manageable perspective.


The course is delivered online or in-person and consists of three sessions:


  1. Session 1: Guided relaxation, future planning and creating a bespoke meditation script for your sessions.
  2. Session 2: Guided relaxation and meditation techniques designed to reduce trauma impact and 'rewind' chosen event(s).
  3. Session 3: Guided relaxation and meditation techniques which further reduce trauma impact and focus on future visioning.


Follow-up: At the end of Session 3, you receive a personalised meditation recording to use anytime you need ongoing support.


Every session is tailored to your needs, pace, and comfort level.

HOW IT HELPS

Non-verbal option: You can participate without talking through your trauma, if that feels safer for you.
 

Reduces emotional intensity: Helps you feel less triggered by past events or stressful situations.
 

Restores control: Supports you in unhooking automatic fight-or-flight responses.
 

Empowering: Many clients describe it as a “ladder to get past mental blocks.”


Promotes long-term resilience: By reprogramming neural pathways, it helps you respond to future triggers with greater calm and confidence.
